The Primelase is a new high-quality medical CE-certified diode laser technology. It is used worldwide by doctors, clinics, and dermatologists. Its exceptionally strong performance reduces treatment time by 30%. The Primelase is known for its power and effectiveness, making it suitable for all skin and hair types. The treatment can be performed at any time of the year.

1. How is it possible for me to become permanently hair-free

When the hair is in the anagen phase (growth phase), the light, which is converted into heat by melanin (a pigment in the skin and hair), is transported to the hair follicle and heats up the protein there. This protein begins to coagulate due to the heat, thus blocking the nutrient supply to the hair, preventing it from regrowing. All technologies for permanent hair removal work on this principle.

Primelase achieves this through its focus and a power of 4800W for all hair colors and skin types. The use of large spots also reaches deeper hair follicles. Thanks to its high wattage, Primelase achieves an unbeatable energy density on the skin. Currently, Primelase is one of the best technologies for permanent hair removal worldwide.

2. What should I consider before choosing an institute?

Make sure that the institute you choose has trained personnel in anatomy, equipment, and lasers. This is usually evident from the certificates displayed on the walls of the premises. In case of doubt, ask them to show you these training certificates. According to the new legislation V-NISSG, as of June 2024, an official certificate of competence in hair removal using IPL/SHR or lasers must be obtained, or else the person is not allowed to perform the treatment. You can verify the individuals performing the treatments with their expertise certificates by name here:

» E-Portal NISSG: Search for individuals with expertise certificates

For your safety, it is crucial that the treating studio employs at least one person who has completed training as a laser safety officer according to SUVA standards in Switzerland. This person ensures that all guidelines for handling different lasers are followed. In the case of multiple employees, there should be a safety officer. The devices should be tested and maintained in Switzerland; feel free to inquire if in doubt.

Before the treatment, you should be informed about the specific procedures, and all medical questions should be answered. Also, ensure that the provider has an insurance partner and what it covers for any potential damages.

3. How many sessions can I expect and at what intervals?

Only the hairs in the anagen phase respond to treatment, meaning the hair is connected to the hair follicle, allowing the energy to reach the papilla where the protein is to be destroyed. These anagen phases determine the treatment intervals, typically renewing every 4-6 weeks.

Since only around 5% – 20% are in this phase during treatment, multiple sessions are required. Our average customer with Primelase undergoes between 4 to 7 treatments per body area. Treatment success depends on various biological factors and can vary, so please accept and adhere to our recommended appointment intervals; otherwise, the success of your treatment may be delayed.

Following the natural hair growth cycle, sessions begin with intervals of at least 4 – 6 weeks, which are then extended toward the end based on the progress.

4. What do I feel during the treatment?

During treatment with Primelase, deep heat is generated quickly. The heat build-up under the skin is achieved after 1 to 2 sessions with the enormous power of 4800W combined with the ultra-short pulse. You will certainly feel a deep warmth, which is made comfortable and virtually painless by the constant cooling at 5 degrees on the handpiece. Depending on hair thickness and density, the treatment may be perceived as stronger or gentler.

5. Comparison of our technologies

As a helpful guide, we have created a brief overview of our technologies for you.

Please note that for your initial booking, you should always include the free consultation. Regardless, you will be informed, advised, and medically assessed on-site before your first treatment with us.

6. What is the procedure for a treatment?

After a warm welcome at our respective location, you will receive consultation and be asked to answer medical questions. The forms will be completed, and once you are cleared for treatment after the visual skin and hair analysis, you will be asked to expose the area to be treated.

You can then make yourself comfortable on our adjustable bed, and the treatment can begin. If the body area is not clean, we will take care of it. If the area is not adequately shaved, we will make any necessary adjustments.

You will be provided with laser safety goggles that must not be removed under any circumstances during the session. We also wear laser safety goggles during the treatments.

Ultrasound gel will be applied, and the laser will be started. During the first session, the appropriate settings will be individually determined through test shots. Once the optimal setting is established, we will move the handpiece over the treated area while continuously monitoring your skin. This monitoring is important to ensure that your tissue is warming up, and the treatment is therefore being carried out successfully and correctly. After wiping off the gel, if desired, a lotion or sunscreen will be applied to the treated area. Then, you can get dressed again and schedule a new suitable appointment with us. It’s that simple!

7. How can I schedule an appointment?

We offer the right time slots for every need. You can easily and conveniently book an appointment yourself via our online booking system. Alternatively, if you have any questions, we can answer them via email or even over the phone. In any case, we also have the corresponding messenger on every platform through which you can contact us.

Please do not hesitate to contact us. If you are unable to attend your booked appointment, please cancel it at least 24 hours in advance. Since we do not accept walk-in clients, these gaps can rarely be filled. Thank you for your understanding.

8. What else do I need to consider?

Every individual responds differently to hair removal, and hormonal changes in the body can affect the results.

  • Please shave clean within 24 hours before the session because every millimeter above the skin’s surface already absorbs energy, which is lost at the hair root!
  • If possible, do not apply makeup before a facial treatment.
  • If possible, avoid using deodorant with aluminum.
  • Permanent hair removal is possible at any time of the year. Do not use self-tanner during the course of therapy.
  • Mild redness may occur but typically disappears after a few minutes.
  • During the consultation, you will receive an information sheet listing all the important points for you to consider.
  • Refresh: If you have completed your therapy with the desired results, a so-called refresh may be necessary when new hairs start to grow again. This is highly individual and may involve one or two sessions, for example. It is highly unlikely that you will ever return to the initial state of hair quantity and texture.
